Recently, members of the Athens (Greece) Bus Evaluation Committee visited specifically Yutong's Zhengzhou factory to carry out a comprehensive acceptance inspection of vehicle samples for the 125-unit battery-powered E12 electric buses project. After rigorous multidimensional tests covering safety performance, process adaptability and quality, etc., the sample vehicles passed seamlessly, presenting excellent performance, and setting a solid foundation for the subsequent batch deliveries. This also marks another important achievement in China-Greece cooperation on green mobility.

The cooperation between Yutong and Greece was driven by local demand for green transport transformation. As a tourist destination, Greece faces heavy traffic, high temperatures in summer and narrow roads. At the same time, fuel-powered buses have high energy consumption and produce heavy pollution, etc. In October 2023, Yutong secured an order for 250 battery-powered electric buses in Greece - the first large-scale new energy bus project in the country. Following the commissioning of the first batch in 2024, the vehicles gained wide local recognition for their advantages such as low energy consumption, flexibility and comfort, etc.
